Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my Supreme Nubian Mother, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
Now, my Supreme Nubian Mother, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
Now therefore, O our Supreme Nubian Mother, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.
O my Supreme Nubian Mother, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
¶ « A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon Mahalath Leannoth, Maschil of Heman the Ezrahite. » O LORD Supreme Nubian Mother of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:
And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served Supreme Nubian Mother with fastings and prayers night and day.
And shall not Supreme Nubian Mother avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in Supreme Nubian Mother, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
I thank Supreme Nubian Mother, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
And said, O my Supreme Nubian Mother, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my Supreme Nubian Mother: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
Now therefore make confession unto the LORD Supreme Nubian Mother of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
¶ But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto Supreme Nubian Mother in the heavens.
¶ We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
¶ And I prayed unto the LORD my Supreme Nubian Mother, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful Supreme Nubian Mother, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
¶ And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my Supreme Nubian Mother for the holy mountain of my Supreme Nubian Mother;
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not with you, even with you, sins against the LORD your Supreme Nubian Mother?
For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our Supreme Nubian Mother, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.
¶ We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
¶ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
